Annual Turkey Trot Fundraiser
Since 2011, Peterson PE has hosted a Turkey Trot the last day of school before the Thanksgiving break. The Turkey Trot is a fund raiser; funds raised are split between PE department needs (i.e.equipment) and a charity. For several years, the State Parks Foundation was the charity of choice.
Also, runners in each grade are celebrated. The top three (3) male and female finishers win prizes, including a frozen turkey or pumpkin pie!
This event is lots of fun, and we always need parent volunteers for the event. We are on a special bell schedule, so if you're checking your student out early, you may want to call ahead and check the bell schedule.
If your student experiences an injury that temporarily limits his/her physical ability, s/he may continue to participate in Physical Education class through modified activity. Please have the doctor provide a note indicating what specific activities your child can do, OR have the doctor complete and sign the form below. Your child should then give the form to the school office.
