This drawing represents that happiness is “Within Reach”. Each balloon represents one of my happiness. The concept of the balloon is that if one of my happiness flies away; I can still hope that someone finds that happiness.

Something I Want To Do Someday

This drawing shows me a running a charity business where I would sell items and donate the money to animal shelters. It relates to the theme because this can be done if I get some friends to help me, and it's a goal that is possible.

3rd Place : Om Chatterjee (6th Grade) SCUPTA Honorable Mention

Within Reach

“Within Reach” is my journey in the field of art and the realization that art is a powerful medium to bring about changes. I saw that my color brought smiles on sad faces. The complex pictures encouraged discussions – some positive, others negative. It made me strive to be a better artist, one painting and drawing at a time. I want to spread the message of positivity and brightness through my paintings. If I can fill “The Field” with my happy canvases, then my goal will be “Within Reach”. Today’s world needs a glimmer of brightness and color!

11 Minutes

I have been very pained by the shooting in Las Vegas. Amidst all the chaos, I am very inspired by those heroes who went out of their way and made a difference by helping the wounded. I write this a tribute to all those heroes highlighting the fact that we must do whatever is Within Reach to make a difference, however small the act.

2nd Place : Alexander Cameron (7th Grade)

Game On!

My story is about my first volleyball match and how it got me started playing the volleyball. This relates to the theme because it shows that even when it seems that you are loosing, you are always Within Reach of success.

3rd Place : Sara Simoni (8th Grade) SCUPTA Award of Excellence (advancing to 6th District level)

The Beast Of The Forest

Every human has a good and a dark side. We all need to look inside of each other, and strive to be a better person. We must grasp our goodness within reach. “When power of love can overcome the love of power, only then will the world know peace.”  (Mahatma Gandhi)

1st Place : Keerthan Sanjay (6th Grade) SCUPTA Award of Excellence (advancing to 6th District level)

Within Reach

My photo is about a boy who is six years old and how he struggled to make a basket. He kept on trying and finally made a basket. With all his efforts and hard work, the basket is within reach for this six-year-old boy.

Freedom Within Reach

My song is an expression of how our world is full of horrible things that live in humanity, but love is our way to freedom, our freedom within reach.

Odissi-the power to do anything

The songs in the dance (Sooraj Dooba Hain and Fight Song) are inspirational songs. They show you can do anything your heart wants. In “Dheem Ta Dae”. I dance to show me catching my dreams. I catch something in the air in dance form. “Within Reach” is what I interpreted as you can achieve your dreams. They are so close, but you still have to work to get it.
