Peterson's Math Olympiad Club meets weekly Monday after school, 1:45pm - 2:40pm in room D-4.  The club will explore math concepts in small groups, study for and participate in math contests, including Math Olympiad, Math Counts, AMC8, and the Harker Invitational.  The Math Olympiad Club will :

  • stimulate enthusiasm and a love for Mathematics
  • introduce important Mathematical concepts
  • teach major strategies for problem solving
  • develop Mathematical flexibility in solving problems
  • strengthen Mathematical intuition
  • foster Mathematical creativity and ingenuity
  • provide for the satisfaction, joy, and thrill of meeting challenges

This is a very popular club and participation is limited to 35 students.  The 2019-20 team has been selected based on an assessment offered in mid-September.

NOTE:  this club is run by parent volunteers; more parent volunteers are needed in order for the kids to work in small groups.  Parent volunteers must have a completed and approved Volunteer Application, Level "D" on file with the Peterson office.
